Young innovators across the Bay of Plenty came together to share their creative ideas, solve problems and celebrate the Young Innovator Awards (yia!) for 2022.

This month, a new yia! website was launched in time for the 2022 Young Innovator Awards. The Headless CMS website was built by Cucumber to a design from Woods Agency.

Yesterday evening, Nick Baker of Cucumber presented on “Analytics: Measuring your Success” to the PoweringOn programme.

Cucumber designed and built the website of the recently launched Timber Design Centre. The Centre is an initiative between Te Uru Rākau, Scion, the WPMA, NZ Timber Design Society and BRANZ.

In the YiA Awards 2020., 1st place in the Junior Category went to Claire Ma for her innovation SOAP. As part of her prize, Claire won a 2 day internship at Cucumber.

Two months ago we were all ported into an alternate dimension, one not many of us would have had a plan for. A new context, redefined parameters and a new way of working. I’ve personally become a bit allergic to hearing the words ‘new normal’, ‘unprecedented’, ‘lockdown’ and also the dreaded ‘C’ word itself.

Recently Google announced that they are stopping the duplication of Featured Snippets in search results.

Congratulations to Western Bay of Plenty District Council who received runner up in the 2019 ALGIM Excellence in Innovation Award for the Insight Reporting Solution – An organisational approach to storytelling and accountability reporting.

Cucumber is now an Approved Research Provider for the new R&D Tax Incentive by the Inland Revenue Department – Te Tari Taake. This allows businesses that work with us on R&D projects to claim a 15 per cent tax refund on research and development spending.

At the time of writing, it is just 3 weeks until Groundswell 2019, the 3rd edition of the Tauranga Festival of Innovation. This year, the festival is longer and has more events and there are sure to be a few events that you will want to attend.

The Sitecore Symosium 2018 was recently held in Orlando, Florida and I attended to represent Cucumber. Many of you will be aware that Cucumber has been a partner of Sitecore since 2011. We could see the benefits of Sitecore’s vision to help personalise customer experiences even then and we have followed their progress and worked on their platform ever since.

Cucumber and Contact Energy are delighted to have been chosen for the 2018 Sitecore Experience Awards as Australia & New Zealand regional winner in the category for Best Use of Personalisation.
