Young innovators across the Bay of Plenty came together to share their creative ideas, solve problems and celebrate the Young Innovator Awards (yia!) for 2022.

This month, a new yia! website was launched in time for the 2022 Young Innovator Awards. The Headless CMS website was built by Cucumber to a design from Woods Agency.

Yesterday evening, Nick Baker of Cucumber presented on “Analytics: Measuring your Success” to the PoweringOn programme.

Today we have Michael Ren in the office - Michael was the senior winner of the Young Innovators Awards and one of his prizes was a 2 day internship with Cucumber.

In the YiA Awards 2020., 1st place in the Junior Category went to Claire Ma for her innovation SOAP. As part of her prize, Claire won a 2 day internship at Cucumber.

Later this month, Groundswell 2020 takes place, the 4th year of Tauranga's Festival of Innovation. Due to COVID-19, all events are being held virtually and while that will limit the networking opportunities, there are still some great events coming up.

At the time of writing, it is just 3 weeks until Groundswell 2019, the 3rd edition of the Tauranga Festival of Innovation. This year, the festival is longer and has more events and there are sure to be a few events that you will want to attend.

The opportunity to explore the industry and meet colleagues right in my own backyard was certainly convenient. The first thing that became apparent is that NZ agritech is a buzz of excitement.

The Agile Conference is back for a second year and Carol Machaj from Cucumber is the passionate organiser behind this event.

Groundswell, Tauranga’s premier festival of Innovation is rolling around again next month, and Cucumber is proud to be involved as the exclusive tech sponsor.

Cucumber provided the thinking required to identify the key requirements of the system. This included analysis of which KPIs would be of the most value to the Port and a technical analysis on how the data would be gathered, and the value this would add.
