Groundswell 2019

06/08/2019

At the time of writing, it is just 3 weeks until Groundswell 2019, the 3rd edition of the Tauranga Festival of Innovation. This year, the festival is longer and has more events and there are sure to be a few events that you will want to attend.

All the information is on the Groundswell Festival website but here are a few highlights

Cucumber is heavily involved in Rhubarb (A Bay of Plenty resource hub including most of the large companies in the area) and there are 2 events being held at Trustpower Arena on Friday 30 August focusing on Forces for Change.

Rhubarb Executive Breakfast 7.30 - 9.30am

Rhubarb Innovation Summit 10am - 4pm

There are the regular events of Groundswell coming back, the Young Innovators Awards (sponsored by Cucumber), Startup Weekend and the Design Thinking Xperiment.

Running for the whole fortnight is Creative Views, where vacant CBD windows are transformed by the region’s creative community as well as Terminus, a virtual reality exhibition at Tauranga Art Gallery.

The Sports Performance Innovation Forum is on Thursday 5 September and explores the convergence of food nutrition, equipment design and athletic endeavour, with distinct perspectives from leading professionals in the world of sports innovation.

At the Business Women’s Network Lunch on Tuesday 3 September you'll hear from three trailblazing women about the personal and professional challenges of bringing transformation.

If you really love food, Well Sensered Food is an immersive culinary dining experience by Australia’s most outrageously creative ensembles.

And finally as a taster of what STEMFest 2019 will bring to Tauranga in October this year, the Play and Explore STEMFest Popup Day on Tuesday 3 September is an interactive session where imagination, creativity, and hands-onplay take centre stage.

There are a lot of events over the fortnight so if you want to attend as many as possible, this calendar may help you plan out your days. Click the image for a high-res version.
