Business Analyst (Expression of Interest)

Business Analysts at Cucumber are at the heart of how we work with clients, working with companies even before the technical challenge to solve is clear, understanding the problem first, looking at the strategy, the project options, definition of priorities, through to the design and delivery of new solutions.  It is expected that at least 70% of the role is spent directly within project work with the rest working on internal and practice development activities.

We will be looking for a Business Analyst who is experienced working directly with clients capturing and analysing business requirements and working with the development team to create and implement solutions that drive digital transformation. This role will incorporate design thinking and research that seeks to identify root causes that will enable our development teams to address the right problem.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on Analysis and Product Management support to clients from pre-sales through to implementation and continuous improvement.

  • It is expected that this role will be split 50% BA tasks and 50% Product Management tasks but will vary depending on the client work and requirements.

  • Facilitate internal & client facing workshops to define & understand business objectives, success criteria, personas, user journeys & user goals.

  • Identify & carry out relevant user research activities for projects to inform requirement decisions & prioritisation.

  • Elicit business, technical, and functional requirements from multiple sources and critically evaluate to ensure requirements reflect user needs & will deliver true business value.

  • Effectively present high-level requirements via business process diagrams, information architecture, site maps, wireframes, user stories, use cases & other relevant output formats.

  • Analyse technical & functional solution options that satisfy requirements to provide recommendations on options that best meet the client needs.

  • Accurately estimate the time and resource requirements required for discovery & design activities as required.

  • Direct & manage the scope, requirements (both written & visual) throughout the Discovery & Design phase for projects as required.

  • Identify system &/or process deficiencies within project lifecycles & develop, recommend possible solutions. 


Key Requirements:

  • 5 years+ experience as a Business Analyst experience working on service delivery.

  • The ability to change approach or methodology to best suit the customer or project and the ability to adapt to different customer domains and digital technologies.

  • Understands data analysis, can navigate a variety of systems/platforms, experience with systems analysis, experience in software development projects as a BA, experience around the building of data dashboards.

  • Solid understanding and practical experience in design thinking or human-centered design principles.

  • Can align digital solutions with broader business objectives and identify technology leverage points.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects, timelines, budgets, and resources.

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills for effective liaison and complex concept translation between internal, external, technical, non-technical, senior, and end user stakeholders.

  • Proven ability in managing client relationships, understanding client needs, and ensuring satisfaction.

  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Eagerness to explore new technologies and approaches
